WAY Station is a visual essay composed of painterly renderings challenging perspectives about the fluidity of integrated societies, and how they impact class distinctions, as opposed to identify politics. Images invariably, shape our reality, much as advertisements suggest,or purport social idealism. The concept for the exhibition attempts to reflect the artist’s observation of his immediate social ecologies, where the notion of communities feeding on each other begs the individual to figure out when to yield to external social pressures, or remain rooted in opposition to being in alignment to one’s core beliefs. The exhibition contextualizes, this supposed grounding in reality; as an abstraction of his experiences through the lenses of perpetual immigrant.
Bayunga Kialeuka-Studio is a Congolese born mult-disciplinary artist ans exhibition producer, whose works center on Congolese society and the tenets of social differentiation.
